Obituary for Norma Jean Olson
NORMA JEAN OLSON AUSTINTOWN - Norma Jean Olson, 83, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Born Aug. 17, 1932, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Monte and Margaret (Timmons) Patterson. Mrs. Olson retired in 1989 from the Youngstown Hospital Association after over 30 years of service.
A former member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church, she attended the Wedgewood Park E.C. Church. She was a member of the Retired Nurses Association.
She enjoyed bingo, church activities, vacationing in Florida, and knitting. Survivors include her children, Pamela (Russell) Mutter, George (Karen) Olson, and Linda (Michael) Seka; grandchildren Rebecca, Donny, Ryan, Devin, Jenna, and Jeremy; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Patterson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2011; and a sister, Carole Goedecker in 2015.
A memorial service will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at 2 p.m. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
