Obituary for PETER A MARABELLA

Peter A. Marabella, 91, of Wyomissing, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in the care of Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was the loving husband of Dorothy H. (Vilardo) Marabella, with whom he shared a marriage of 70 years.

Born in Reading to the late John and Lena (Sfameni) Marabella, Peter attended Reading High School. He was a hard worker who dedicated over 35 years to the Dick Horrigan Porshe, Audi, and Subaru dealership of Reading. He retired as General Manager.

Peter was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church of Whitfield. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Peter will be greatly missed. He was a passionate “Phanatic” for Philadelphia sports, especially for the Eagles, who he was delighted to see win Superbowl LII. Peter also enjoyed golf, car racing, and bowling.

Left to treasure Peter’s memory are his wife, Dottie; their children: John Marabella (Kathy) of West Lawn; Philip Marabella (Stephanie) of Sinking Spring; and Sherry Gundersen (Paul) of Sinking Spring; their grandchildren: Megan, Erin, Christine, Jennifer, Stephen, Nicole, Alex, and Connor; and their great grandchildren: Molly, Emma, Shawn, Benjamin, Penelope, Aiden, James, and Hailey. In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his brother, Salvatore “Sam” Marabella, and his sister, Anne Madera.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peter’s memory may be offered to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2600 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609, with committal to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery’s Chapel of St. George, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611, and on Friday, January 13, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
