Obituary for James F Metzger
JAMES F. METZGER SALEM -
James F. Metzger, 78, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Born March 22, 1937, in Youngstown, he was the son of Donald and Lillian (Gerlach) Metzger. Mr. Metzger was a U.S. Marine veteran and retired from General Motors after 35 years of service, where he worked as a supervisor.
He was a member of the Greenford Christian Church in Greenford.
Survivors include his children, Debbie (Rich) Jovanovich, James Metzger Jr., Chris (Maria) Metzger, Julie (Glenn) Taylor, James (Wendy) Finlen, Gary (Karen) Finlen, Kathryn (Robin) Parks, Wendy (Rick) DePalmo, and Jeanne Jones; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Donald (Joanne) Metzger and Tom (Sharon) Metzger; and a sister, Sue (Thomas) Chuey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette, in 2015.
Services will be held today, March 20, 2016, at 1 p.m., at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, where friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Committal services will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Green Haven Memorial Gardens Chapel.
