Robert Francis Banks Sr.

Youngstown - Robert Francis Banks Sr., 88, died March 7, 2016 at Omni Manor Health Care Center.

Mr. Banks was born May 17, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of Robert and Catherine Lewis Banks.
He worked as a Craneman for U.S Steel Ohio Works for 35 years, retiring in 1981.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII He was a member of the VFW Post #93.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, the former Velma Snyder, whom he married Oct. 21, 1944; three sons, Robert F. (Myrtle "Kelly") Banks Jr. of Youngstown, Dale J. (Jami) Banks of Newport, MI, and Richard L. (Lenore) Banks of Bluffton, SC; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Scaltrito and Catherine Ruscitti and one brother, Raymond Banks.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 4:00PM to 5:45 PM at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, followed by funeral service at 6:00PM..
