Obituary for Charles W. Somerville

Charles W. Somerville, 49, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 after a three year battle with cancer. Charles was raised in New Franklin and was a graduate of Norton High School. After serving four years in the United States Marine Corps, he graduated from the University of Akron with a BS in Automated Manufacturing Technology. Charlie was formerly employed by Ford Motor Company and City of Akron Water Department. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, National Lodge #568 F&AM, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Valley of Akron and York Rite. Preceded in death by nephew, Jeremy Lasko; father-in-law, Lauren Egger and brother-in-law, Douglas Egger; survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Egger); parents, Wayne and LaVera Somerville; mother-in-law, Pat Egger; step-son, Bradley (Devon) Egger; brothers, Jim (Dana) Lasko, John (Pam) Lasko and Michael (Joetta) Somerville; step-grandsons, Liam and Logan Egger; niece, Maggie Somerville; nephews, Jim and Brian Lasko and Jett Wayne Somerville; along with other relatives and friends and will be greatly missed by his faithful canine companions, "Rosa" and "Lily". Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. with Masonic services at 7 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203. Graveside services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls with military honors.
