Obituary for Ronald Eugene Livergood
Ronald E. "Sam" Livergood died on his 87th birthday February 17, 2016.
Born in Akron to Grace M. (nee Young) and
Robert B. Livergood, he moved to Cuyahoga Falls as a young child and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1948. He attended Kent State and then joined the U.S. Army, serving with the finance Corp in Alaska for two years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, and the National Association of Letter Carriers. Sam retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1990 with 30 years service, 25 of which he carried on the same route.
Preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Betty in 2014; parents; brother, Robert and sisters,
Marion Neal and Shirley Neahring; he is survived by his children, Shirley A. (David) McGhee and Mary Lou (Scott)
Parsons, David (Terry) Livergood; grandchildren, Michelle, Eric, Daniel,
Michael and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Logan.
Services will be held 12:30 p.m. SATURDAY at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., with Rev. Debbie Saxe officiating. Interment with military honors by Charles Faust Post #281 American Legion at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the service begins.
