Obituary for Robert P Swarm

ROBERT P. ''BOB'' SWARM AUSTINTOWN - Robert P. “Bob” Swarm, 72, passed away early Tuesday morning, Feb. 2, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. Robert was born Jan. 20, 1944, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Hazel Southard Swarm, was a 1964 graduate of Chaney High School, and was a lifelong area resident.
After high school, Bob attended vocational school at the Vienna Air Force Base for auto body repair. He worked for 31 years in the body shop at the General Motors, Lordstown Plant, retiring in 1998. Prior to his work with GM, he worked at various local independent auto body repair shops.

Mr. Swarm was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting, and he played softball in the UAW Local No. 1112 League. Bob was also a hotrod enthusiast, and with his ‘68 Camaro, “Old Friend,” entered many car shows.
Bob leaves his wife of 50 years, Karen E. Beggs Swarm, whom he married July 10, 1965; three children, Shannon K. (Jeffrey) Bryant of Mogadore, David J. (Lisa) Swarm of Canfield, and Robert C. (Lena) Swarm of Austintown; seven grandchildren, Vincent, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Meagan, Christian, Tori, and Layla; a brother, Jerry (Sue) Swarm of Boardman; and many loving extended family members and friends.
Three brothers, Harry, Thomas, and William, and a sister, Alice, are deceased. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown. Mr. Swarm’s family gives special thanks to Dr. Gregory Facemyer and the staff at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, for the kindness shown and care given to Bob and his family.
