Obituary for Janette M Gates
Janette Marie (nee: Beech) Gates, age 82, of Wickliffe died Jan. 21, 2016 at Lake Hospital Systems, Willoughby, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 17, 1933 in Painesville, to Robert and Frances Marie (nee: Bixler) Beech, she was a lifelong Lake County resident. Mrs. Gates was an avid reader, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was lovingly referred to by her grandchildren as "Marnie" a.k.a. "GG". Mrs. Gates was a Safety Investigator for Greyhound Bus Lines retiring after 30+ years of service. Survivors include her children, Sharon (Greg Funk) Vitantonio of Wickliffe and Jeffrey (Anne) Gates of Painesville Twp.; grandchildren, Melissa (Mark) Schneider, Nicole (Paul) Sobotka and Sarah Gates and great grandchildren, Rachel, Christian, Kaitlyn and Izzabelle. She also leaves her brothers, Robert (Joanne), Roger (Eleanor) and Donald Beech. She is predeceased by her parents and son in law, Gary Vitantonio. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at the Burr Funeral Home, Chardon, followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held. The family suggests donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd., #224, Independence, 44131.
