Obituary for Jr. John Freiman

John Freiman Jr. died December 20, 2015 at 99 years of age.Born July 6, 1916 in Akron, Ohio, John attended The Cleveland School of Art. During World War II, he worked at Goodyear Aircraft Corp. as an Aircraft Illustrator which led to a long term career. He continued his career as a freelance commercial artist with the major rubber companies in Akron. John was a long time member of the Akron Society of Artists.
He retired at the ripe old age of 80 years.John enjoyed family activities, Blossom Music Center, gardening (winning many Akron beautification awards), Swenson''s cheeseburgers, golfing, family dogs and birds. He was a season ticket holder with the Cleveland Browns and provided neighborhood children repair services for their bicycles. John was a long time member of St. Paul''s Episcopal Church, actively involved with Boy Scouts, children''s theatre and stewardship
. He was a committed volunteer for The All-American Soap Box Derby.John was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gloria; his brother, Henry Freiman; and his sister, Nellie Lazar. He is survived by his son, John A. Freiman (Terri); daughters, Patricia A. Ovark (Ron) and Ricki B. Freiman; grandchildren, Christine Freiman (Julie), Jonathan Freiman (Linda) and Scott Tiffan (Tracy); and great-grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Bradley, Landon, Lily and Zoey.Service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, at St. Paul''s Episcopal Church, with Rev. Mark Pruitt officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to service in the parish hall.
