Obituary for Paul A Pope

PAUL A. POPE SR DIAMOND - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel, for Paul A. Pope Sr., 73, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 27. Paul was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Pittsburgh, the son of Albert Edward and Jennie (Bullock) Pope.
He retired in 2002 from the paint department of General Motors Lordstown Plant, after more than 35 years of service.
He was a member of the UAW Local 1112 and was a Catholic by faith. Paul’s hobbies included wood working, working on cars, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his son, daughter, grandchildren and his dog, Jasmine. His wife, the former Mary Nodd, whom he married on Aug. 27, 1966, passed away May 8, 2002. Paul leaves two children, Paula Bailey, with whom he made his home, and her fiancé, Tom Faras, and Paul Pope II and his wife, Kellie, of Newton Falls; five grandchildren, Paul Pope III, Nikki Pope, Joseph Bailey, Christopher Bailey and Rachel Bailey; as well as four great-grandchildren, Riley, Chevy, and Alex Pope and Camryn Merrell. Paul also leaves a brother, Edward Pope and two sisters, Ladonna Floor and Adeline Young, all of Pennsylvania. Besides his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Madeline Kulus.
