Obituary for Jean Lamb

JEAN MARIE LAMB AUSTINTOWN - Jean Marie Lamb, 59, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at her home. Born Dec. 5, 1956, in Decatur, Ill., she was the daughter of Robert E. and Cecilia Colleen (Munie) Grossman.
Jean Marie was a proud and devoted second grade teacher at E.J. Blott in Liberty. She loved teaching as well as learning. She graduated with highest honors from Youngstown State University, having received both her Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Education, earning magna cum laude in both degrees. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Charles D. Lamb; daughters Jennifer (Matthew) Durno, Danielle (Michael Yarina) Lamb, and Randi Lamb; sisters Michelle (Mary Crock) Judy and Melissa (Bobby) Thomas; brothers Brian (Mary) Grossman and Steven (Lauren) Grossman; her beloved black Lab, Willie; and her grand-dogs, Molson and Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends will be received at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., where services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The family encourages those who attend to wear Jean Marie’s favorite color, purple, to help celebrate her life. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St Jude Research Hospital.
