Obituary for George Pazel

GEORGE PAZEL AURORA - George Pazel, 95, went to his Lord Monday, Dec. 28, 2015. He was born in Youngstown on Nov. 10, 1920, and grew up in North Lima.

He was preceded in death by parents Frank and Elizabeth Pazel; wife Isabell Bodnar Pazel; and brothers John and Stephen Pazel. He is survived by daughter Mary Lou (John) Ross of Aurora; sisters Frances DelRae of Campbell, Mary Sipos of Youngstown, Julia Cook of Levittsburg, and Mildred (Chuck) Merrick of Youngstown; grandchildren Michael (Sandra) Vickers of Wake Forest, N.C., and Adele (Otto) Mauch of Parma; and great-grandchildren Jon, Allison, and Katelyn of Parma, and Christin, Lauren, and Luke of Wake Forest.

George served in U.S. Army during World War II. He married Isabell Bodnar in 1946, and they lived on the east side of Youngstown. Isabell died in June of 1989, following a brief illness. George found employment in the steel industry for 30 years. He had lived in Aurora with daughter, Mary Lou and husband since 1989. He has been a patient at Kensington of Aurora since July of 2013.
Visitation and family greetings are Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 10 a.m., in the greeting space of the Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Road (S.R.306), Chagrin Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m., with Pastor Fr. Dan Schlegel.
Final place of rest is Green Haven Memorial Gardens, 3495 S. Canfield-Niles Road, at 1 p.m. “May God give rest and peace to our Grandpa George.” -
