Obituary for Mary Jane Kelly

Death of Mrs. Mary G. Kelly.

The death of Mrs. Mary G. Kelly occurred at her home on West Loula Saturday evening. The funeral service service was held at 2:30 at the Methodist Methodist church, Tuesday, conducted by Rev. H. A. Pasley and burial made in the Olathe cemetery.

Mary Jane Hedrick was born August 29, 1860, at Washburn, Woodford county, Illinois. In 1874 she came to Johnson county, Kansas with her parents and lived on a farm near Gardner. She was united in marriage to Mr. Alex Kelly, February, 1888, and they lived on a farm 4 miles south of Olathe, near Lone Elm most of the time with the exception of six years spent Oklahoma, until coming to Olathe several years ago.

To this union were born three children, a daughter, Mrs. Vernay Stoffregan, Akron, Colo., and two sons, W. G. Kelly, Tisdale, Canada, and Herbert Ross Kelly, Kansas City, all of whom are living. Five brothers, James A. and Joshua, Gardner; Barton, Kansas City; Joseph and Grandville Hedrick and three grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Kelly was a bright, kind hearted, capable woman, and she was loved and revered not only in the family circle, but by those in town and country who came in touch with her. She was a good mother, who reared her children carefully.
