Obituary for William F Nelle
WILLIAM F. NELLE YOUNGSTOWN – William F. Nelle, 86, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 6, 2015, at Hospice House in Poland.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1929, in Ellwood City, Pa., son to the late William J. Nelle and Cleora Barnes. “Bill” graduated from Lewistown High School in Pennsylvania and went on to join the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On May 29, 1951, Bill married the love of his life, Elsie L. (Roth) Nelle, and spent the next 57 years by her side until her passing on April 14, 2009. Bill held many jobs during his life, he was a TV and radio repairman, he worked at Sohio in Cornersburg, and then he worked for Cold Metal Products for over 30 years before retiring. Bill was a member of the Boardman American Legion Post 565 and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church He will be remembered for building model airplanes, working puzzles, and gardening.
Left to celebrate Bill’s memory are his children, Joyce (Jim) Semple of Youngstown, Patty (Larry) Middleton of Salem, Kathy (Danny) Gagye of Angola, Ind. and Keith (Diana) Nelle of Struthers; his 11 grandchildren; his 16 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Juniata “Neada” McElwayn and Leota “Dotsy” (Don) Pierce; and his brother, Ron (Barb) Nelle. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., where funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
