Services for Joe E. Kirk, 91, of Willoughby, will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mr. Kirk passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015 at The Ohio Veterans Home near Sandusky.
Born July 30, 1924 in Pocahantas, TN, he has lived in Willoughby for the past 65 years.
He was a World War II United States Army veteran and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1500 in Willoughby and the Amalgamated Transit Union National Local 1700.
Mr. Kirk was employed as a bus mechanic for Greyhound Bus Lines, retiring in 1986 after 35 years of service.
Survivors are his daughters, Betty (Denny) York, Diane (Alan) Perz, Peggy (James) Apicello and Linda (Mark) Roberts; grandchildren, Michelle (David) Owen, Julie Brown, Jody (Skaidre) Brown, Sarah Hosa, Shanon (Ken) Pierce, Carrie Hosa, Michael (Jaime) Perz, Jessica (Jerry) Styers, Rick (Gennie) Brooks and Rhianon Norton; great-grandchildren, Liam Owen, Nicholas and Elise Vichinsky, Eion, Grace and Christopher Brown, Chloe, Madison and Holly Pierce, Collin and Gabriel Perz, Iris, Libbey, Walter and Parker Styers, Payton and Paige Brooks, Savannah Hyson, Gatlyn Riss, Sarah and Evan Owen. He also leaves a former grandson-in-law, Kevin Vichinsky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maryann in 1999; his great-granddaughter, Joely Ann Styers; parents, Joseph and Emma (Ray) Kirk and eight siblings are also deceased.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
