Obituary for Rosalia L Helmick

ROSALIA HELMICK

“Together Again”

NEW MIDDLETOWN – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, with Fr. Edward Noga celebrating for Rosalia Helmick, 77, who passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015.

Rosalia was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of Wences and Ann Storsina Romero.

On Jan. 11, 1957, she married Roy Helmick.

She worked as a practical nurse until she started a family and did many odd jobs, helping others throughout her life. Her most important job, however, was taking care of her family. Rosalia always thought of others before herself, treating others with dignity and kindness. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts, worked at Cling’s bakery and babysat. She was a member of St. Patrick Church.

Rosalia will be sadly missed by her sons, Christopher (Cheryl) Helmick of Austintown, Roy (Rose) Helmick of Youngstown, and Mark (Bambi) Helmick of Poland; her daughter-in-law, Colleen; her grandchildren, Adam Helmick, Michael Helmick, Lauralee Piett-Tatarka, Rosa Stewart, Theodore Helmick, Anthony Helmick, Phillip Helmick, Stephen Helmick, Autumn Johnson, Holly Costello, Matthew Hassay, Holly Carrier, Douglas Morrison and Lucinda Chamberlain; 21 great-grandchildren; her stepfather, Dominic DiCero; and many nieces and nephews.

Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Stephen and Phillip; her siblings, Richard and Rosita; and her stepchildren, Roy Helmick Jr. and Shirley Morrison.

The Helmick family would like to thank the staff at Masternick Memorial for their kindness and compassion.

The Helmick family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home, where they will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. on Thursday at St. Patrick Church.
