Obituary for Harold F May

AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at noon, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Mr. Harold F. May, 80, who died Thursday evening at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. May was born on April 6, 1935, in West Virginia, son of William and Paueline (Shrout) May.

He attended King Wood High School in West Virginia. After high school, he began his career as a press operator for Chrysler, retiring after 34 years. He was a very hard working man, teaching his children to follow in his footsteps.

Harold loved working with his hands, especially on cars. He also enjoyed landscaping, and hunting. Over the years, Harold taught his children and grandchildren many life lessons that they will never forget.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, the former Mrs. Shirley Pyles, whom he married on April 10, 1952.

Harold is also survived by his four children, Debra Featsent, DeVenna Davis, Harold May, and Joe May, all of Austintown; three sisters, Nancy May of Austintown, Martha Sypelt, and Betty Fizer, both of West Virginia; two bothers, Charles and Gary, also of West Virginia; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann; son John May Sr.; five brothers; and four grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 10 until the time of service at noon.

Harold will be laid to rest at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
