Obituary for Robert J Stanton

ROBERT J. STANTON

BROOKFIELD - Robert J. Stanton, 61, passed away at University Hospital in Cleveland, on Saturday, Oct. 10 after a brief illness.

He was born in Warren, on May 23, 1954, son to the late Harry and Bonnie (Parke) Stanton.

“Bob” was a Niles McKinley High School graduate and eventually was self employed in the oil and gas industry. He was a member of the Niles First United Methodist Church.

Bob will be remembered as hardworking, and a great family man who loved all of his relatives. He had a passion for his Harley Davidson and enjoyed many great rides. He created many great memories with his family during the many trips they took in their camper, especially the yearly excursions to the Myrtle Beach area. He also loved fishing on his boat at Lake Erie, and was able to make friends everywhere he went.

Left to celebrate Bob’s memory is his loving wife of 41 years this October, Patty Stanton, whom he married on Oct. 19, 1974. He also leaves behind his children, Beth (Donald) Kinser of Mineral Ridge, and Brian Stanton of Brookfield; his granddaughter, Madeline Kinser, who was his undisputed pride and joy; his siblings, Judy (Dave) Majick of Cortland, Donald (Sandy) Stanton of Warren, Art (Glenda) Stanton of Orangeville, Pa., Patty (Doug) Hansen of Mecca, and Kathy (Carl) Freeman of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel, 1350 N. Canfield Niles Road, and on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens
