Obituary for Kayla Newbery

YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 10 a.m., at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Kayla Noelle Newbery, 19, who died Thursday evening, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous batter with cancer.

Kayla was born on March 22, 1996, in Ravenna, the daughter of Robert Newbery and Tanya (Haney) Robertson.

She was a 2014 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. She was a member of the marching band and the Austintown Junior Soccer League. One of Kayla’s most memorable memories was her trip to Disney World earlier this year.

Kayla leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Robert Newbery and Tanya Robertson of Youngstown; three sisters, Mary Newbery of Hubbard, Jennifer (Tom) Byers of Girard, and Jaime Cusimano of Youngstown; three brothers, Robert (Jennifer) Newbery of Hubbard, Donald Robertson of Youngstown, and Marc Haney of Leavittsburg; six nieces and nephews; and many great friends.

Kayla was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Frank and Isabel Newbery; and her maternal grandparents, Robert and Barbara Haney.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Internment will follow Wednesday’s service at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.

Kayla’s family requests that material tributes be made to the funeral home to assist in Kayla’s funeral expenses.
