Obituary for Arthur William Aldred

Arthur W. Aldred age 91 of Seymour entered peaceful rest on September 1, 2015 at his home; he was the husband of the late Gladys (King) Aldred. Born in Ansonia on April 4, 1924, he was a son of the late Lester and Jessie (Speed) Aldred. A retired Union Carpenter, Mr. Aldred was an active member at Christ Church, serving as a vestry member and teacher in vacation bible school. He was also very involved with Boy Scouts where he served many years as troop leader, training instructor, and up until recent, commissioner. He enjoyed travel, camping and scuba diving.

Survivors include his step-son, Donald Jones of Orange, his step-daughter, Candace Cleveland (George) of Oxford, and three nephews, Alan Keeler of Woodbury, Robert Keeler in AZ, and Lee Keeler in CA. His sister, Eleanor Keeler predeceased him.

A Memorial Service of Requiem Eucharist will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in Christ Church, 470 Quaker Farms Rd., Oxford. Memorial donations in Arthur’s name can be made to Seymour Pink Inc., PO Box 333. Seymour, CT 06483.
