Obituary for Betty J. Ireland Carney

Betty Carney, age 84, wife of the late Robert F. Carney and resident of Seymour, entered into eternal rest Oct. 1. She was born in Derby March 20, 1931, daughter of the late Harry & Jessie Ogdon Ireland. Betty worked as a secretary in the payroll dept. of Farrel Corp., and later for Life Touch Studios. She is survived by 2 sons, Paul Carney of Ansonia, William Carney & Michele Valente of Southbury, 2 sisters Marjorie Hulstrunk of Morris Plains, N.J. & Frances Ballantyne of Derby, 2 granddaughters, Elizabeth Bailey of Hamden & Tammie Brown of Vinton, Iowa, 3 great grandchildren and 13 nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Laurie Carney and 2 brothers William & Harvey Ireland. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. Friends may call on Monday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
