Naomi Harris was born May 22, 1934 in Maplesville, Alabama to the late Savannah and Brazzie Thompson. She graduated from West High School in Akron, Ohio. After graduation she relocated to Los Angeles, California with her beloved husband, Albert C. Davis. To this union were born three sons, Albert Jr., Brandon and Tony. She was employed by the County of Los Angeles, California for over 30 years; she retired in 2000. Shortly after her retirement she relocated back to Akron, Ohio in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tony Davis; brothers, Savannah Thomas (Red), Wesley Anderson and Huey Jackson; sisters, Lucy Hawthorne, Helen McCarroll and Lula Williams. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons, Albert Davis and Brandon Davis of Los Angeles, California; brother, Elder Hugh Thompson Sr. of Akron, Ohio, Nelson (Suzzane) Thompson of Los Angeles, California; special nephew and caregivers, Lowell (Scharlene) Hawthorne of Akron; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Elder Hugh Thompson officiating. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 12 Noon. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1106 Himelright, Akron, OH 44320.
