Obituary for Virginia L Roth

VIRGINIA L. ROTH  

AUSTINTOWN - There will be services at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens Chapel for Virginia L. Roth, 92, who died Aug. 29, at AustinWoods.

Virginia was born Dec. 26, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of Harvey and Annabelle Rothwell Beard.

She was a 1941 graduate of South High School and then graduated from the Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing in 1943.

Virginia was a registered nurse with the Youngstown Hospital Association and then St. Elizabeth Hospital, before retiring from Planned Parenthood in 1980.

Virginia was a member of the Austintown Community Church. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed working with crafts. Virginia also enjoyed camping, spending summers at Lake Erie and attending the Canfield Fair for 75 plus years. She loved being with family and most especially, the time spent with her grandchildren.

Virginia’s husband of 67 years, Jack W. Roth Sr., whom she married Aug. 26, 1944, died March 29, 2011.

Virginia is survived by her children, Debra (Jack) Kleiss of Cloverdale, Ind., Jack W. (Susan) Roth Jr. of Broomfield, Colo., Harvey (Bonnie) Roth of Austintown and Jeffrey (Jill) Roth of Hudson, Fla.; her sister, Jacquelyn Richardson of Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gordon and Wallace Beard.
