Larry F. Haefke

Austintown- Services celebrating the life of Larry Haefke will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Larry was born December 02, 1930 in Youngstown the son of Lawrence and Esther (Dahmann) Haefke Sr.

Larry attended Austintown Fitch high school and served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1996 as owner and operator of the BP Service station on the corner of Kirk and Rt. 46. He had operated service stations for 24 years.

Larry took up golf at the age of 70 achieving two holes in one. He golfed in the Bob Roth Golf League. Larry was honored to be inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. He was also formerly a member of the Saxon Club.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Gayle (Jones) Haefke whom he married April 27, 1957, son Bart (Brenda VanAuker) Haefke and granddaughter Lyndsie (Jordan) Kyser. Larry was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Deeds and brothers Calvin and Joe.

Family and friends may call for one hour prior to services (12-1pm) Sunday at the funeral home.
