(Fisher) Aberth 1914 - 2015 | Obituary | Condolences Frances E. (Fisher) Aberth Obituary Frances E. Aberth (Fisher) Frances Elizabeth Fisher Aberth, age 100, died August 6, 2015, a resident of Niceville, Florida. She was born in Coshocton, Ohio, on November 15, 1914. She was the eldest of the four children of Paul and Chloris Fisher. In Fran''s early years, the Fisher family moved to Akron, Ohio, and while she was attending North High School, she won the title, "Miss North Akron". She went on to be crowned Miss Akron in 1932 at the age of 17. George H. Aberth came into her life after having seen her in the Miss Akron Beauty Contest. They were married in 1936. They made their life together in Akron raising four children and were married for sixty-six years until George passed away in 2002. While raising her family, Frances spent many hours volunteering as a member of several Akron civic and social organizations, including the Witan Club, the Akron Garden Club, the Yusef Khan Caldron, Akron Chapter, and Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, where she served on the board for several years. Frances acquired a passion for golf as an early member of Silver Lake Golf and Country Club. She joined the United States Golf Association, which allowed her to travel and play many courses across the United States and on some of Europe''s finest golf courses, including Scotland''s most renowned links. Frances scored three holes in one during her golfing career with the last one at 80 years of age. In her later years, with her play restricted to the putting green at her retirement home, she continued to demonstrate her skill by sinking a 30 footer to win a contest at the age of 99. When George retired from his job as President of The Akron City and Kaase Baking Company, in 1975, the Aberths moved to Naples, Florida. In Naples, they attended Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church where Frances continued volunteering. She also volunteered at North Naples Community Hospital, and when George became ill, she served as a caregiver for him until he passed away in 2002. Frances became a resident at Aston Gardens Retirement Community in North Naples where she introduced the Red Hat Society in 2002. She served as the group''s Queen Mother until 2014 when she moved to Niceville, Florida, to an assisted living residence and to be closer to her son George, Jr. Frances is survived by her four children, Dr. George H. Aberth, Jr. (Sally), Attorney Joel R. Aberth (Bonnie), Judith D. Aberth, and Susan Aberth Briske; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Martha J. Rupple of Cleveland, Ohio. Her brothers, Harold and Richard Fisher, are deceased. Frances has been laid to rest next to her husband George at the Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with Reverend Dr. Donard M. Engle officiating, and with her four loving children, their spouses, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren in attendance. For those wishing to honor her memory, donations are requested to be made to either of her two favorite Akron charities, Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, or Keep Akron Beautiful Foundation.
