Obituary for Leroy L Robison

LeRoy Leslie Robison
Columbiana- Leroy Leslie Robison, 95, of Columbiana, OH, died July 13,2015, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living after a brief illness.
Born at the family home in New Castle, Pennsylvania, November 24, 1920, he was the son of Vicia (Hillkirk) Robison and George Erastus Robison.
LeRoy was raised in Toronto and spent various years of his adult life in New Springfield and Boardman, Ohio, before moving this year to live in Columbiana, Ohio.
Mr. Robison graduated from Toronto High School in 1939.
LeRoy began his working career with Isaly’s before joining the US Army during World War II. He served proudly from 1942 - 1945 with the 622nd Expeditionary, rank of Corporal in the Ordinance Force. The unit was stationed in Tukesberry, England, Depot G25.
After the war LeRoy married Lillian (Grant) Robison on August 29, 1946. He worked for Hathaway in Delivery and Sales.
Lillian and LeRoy owned and operated the Dairy Queen located on Youngstown-Poland Road for ten years. Following the sale of the Dairy Queen, LeRoy was employed in sales with a bronzing shoe and keepsake company . He retired in 1990.
Mr. Robison enjoyed photography and says he was always hungry for information. Laughingly, LeRoy would say, “Don’t know what I am looking for but I’m looking anyway.” With his wife and oftentimes other family members, he traveled the United States extensively throughout his life.
LeRoy is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Lillian, a brother, George Robison, a sister, Reba (Robison) Blanton, and a sister, Vera (Robison) Mehalko.
He is survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
LeRoy is delivered into our Savior’s care as a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 6:45 p.m. at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, Ohio. A funeral service will be held after at 7 p.m. with Pastor Richard Kidd officiating.
