Obituary for Helen M Melone

HELEN M. MELONE

YOUNGSTOWN - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, July 31, 2015, at 5 p.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. as celebrant, for Helen M. Melone, 94, who passed away Wednesday morning at Omni Manor.

Helen was born on Dec. 17, 1920, in Youngstown, a daughter of Anthony and Angeline Tarolla Melone, and was a lifelong area resident.

She graduated from South High School with the class of 1938, and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She worked at Kessler Products, retiring many years ago. Her enjoyment in life was giving to others, especially her nieces and nephews and there are many of them. She was a member of the Mother of Crucifix at her church, belonged to the Barrea V. Club, helped at the Oblate Sisters and worked many spaghetti dinners at the church.

Helen leaves a nephew and his wife, Donald and Barbara Gaudio, as her caregivers, and many other nieces and nephews, from great-nieces and great-nephews to a great-great-great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Edna Gaudio, Margaret DeGenaro, and Ann Melone; and a brother, Thomas Melone.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday at the church, prior to the Mass.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the wonderful care that was given by the staff on the east wing of Omni Manor.
