Obituary for Marian B Porter

MARIAN B. PORTER

AUSTINTOWN – There will be services held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Marian B. Porter, 89, who passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center.

Marian was born Dec. 10, 1925, in Tarentum, Pa., a daughter of Reginald and Clara Thompson Brashear.

She was a 1943 graduate of Chaney High School.

Marian was a group chief operator for Ohio Bell in Youngstown for 28 years, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard, and the Telephone Pioneers Local 4300 of Youngstown.

Her husband, John C. Porter, whom she married June 29, 1969, passed away Jan. 18, 1988.

She will be sadly missed by her son, Ronald P. (Rosemary) Hartman of Austintown; two grandchildren, Christopher Anthony (Becky) Hartman and Rhonda Lynn Steele; and five great-grandchildren.

She also leaves her sister, Jane Schultz of Austintown.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Richard Hartman; her brother, James Brashear; and her sister, Eleanor Jameson.

There will be calling hours on Thursday, July 16, 2015, two hours prior to the service, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Marian will be laid to rest at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
