Obituary for Billy J McLain

NEWTON FALLS - Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 17, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Billy J. McLain, 77, who died Monday evening at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Billy was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Marion, Ind., a son of the late Guild R. and Sara E. Simpson McLain, and came to this area in 1972, from Swayzee, Ind.

He had been a foreman in the press room for General Motors for 41 years, retiring in 2001. He was a former member of the Swayzee Christian Church and enjoyed golfing and fishing.

His wife, the former Betsy M. Rudibaugh, whom he married Aug. 5, 1972, died Sept. 12, 2014.

He leaves two sons, Mark (Tracy) McLain of San Diego, and their children, Elizabeth, Matthew, Kyle and Sophia, and Steven (Shari) McLain of Marion, and their children, Amanda, Nicholas, Jared and Jaiden; a great-grandchild; one daughter, Kimberly Kelch of Edgewater, Fla. and her children, David and Kalan; two stepsons, Michael G. Batcha of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Joseph A. Batcha of Newton Falls; two brothers, Paul Daniel (Mickey) McLain of Marion and Jerry L. McLain of Gas City, Ind.; and three nieces, Stacey, Stephanie, and Michelle.

Besides his parents and his wife, Billy was preceded in death by a brother, Richard McLain.

Friends may call on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
