Obituary for Mary M Spence

                                                                                                                                                                       Mary M. "Maggie" (Spaulding) Spence, age 82, of Mentor for the past 52 years and formerly of West Virginia, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. She was born January 19, 1933, in Crum, W.Va. Maggie was a sewing machine operator at the former Fisher Body Plant in Euclid from 1976 until her retirement in 1994. Mrs. Spence was a devoted member of The Church of Christ in Mentor for 15 years and Madison Avenue Church of Christ for 32 years. She enjoyed cooking, tending her flower gardens and baking. She was an avid Indians fan, but most of all loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Elmer "Hoover" Spence, Minister; sons, John J. (Barbara) Spence and Len (Gail) Spence; grandchildren, Michael Spence, Kim (Juston) Osborne, Daniel (Terai) Spence and Sara Spence; great-grandchildren, Easton, Madison, Nicole and Damon; and sisters, Clista Farley and Delphine Pittman. Preceding Maggie in death was her granddaughter, Alicia Spence; parents, Thomas and Isabell Spaulding; siblings, Lexie Chafin, Edna Varney, Dixie Marcum, Joan Hammond and Lillmon Spaulding. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Brunner Sanden Deitrick .  Burial will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens.
