Obituary for Leslie E Terwilliger

LESLIE ''LES'' ELI TERWILLIGER

YOUNGSTOWN - Leslie “Les” Eli Terwilliger, 85, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015.

He was born on April 6, 1930, in Austintown, son to the late Jesse J. and Mary M. (Handwork) Terwilliger. 

Les was a 1949 Austintown Fitch High School graduate. He went on to join the Navy and served until he was honorably discharged in 1953. Shortly after, he married the love of his life, the former Janette E. Srock, on July 7, 1955. Today would have marked their 60th anniversary. 

Les worked as a plumber for 40 years and retired in 1992, after working 22 years at Prout Boiler Co. He attended the Boardman Baptist Church and will be remembered as a man with high standards, a love for motorcycling, and for country, polka, and gospel music. 

Left to carry on his memory is his wife, Janette E. Terwilliger; his children, Linda (John) Morelli, Jeff (Brenda) Terwilliger, Tom (Marybeth) Terwilliger, Jeremy (Bobbi) Terwilliger, and Christopher Terwilliger; his grandchildren, Adam, Eric, and Jesse Terwilliger, and David Green and April Booth; and his seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Les was preceded in death by his brother, Millard Terwilliger, and his sister, Elaine Bott. 

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., where funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m.

Entombment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
