Obituary for Lahoma Simpson Lowe

WARREN, PA. - Lahoma Simpson Lowe, 100, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 11:37 a.m., at her residence.

She was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Dewitt, Ky. She was the daughter of Dynisidus and Dewey Messer Simpson. Lahoma had been a Warren, Pa. area resident for the past 23 years and was formerly of Youngstown.

She was a professional seamstress for many years and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of the Austintown Baptist Church in Austintown, where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Breitenreiter of Warren, Pa.; five sons, Richard Lowe (Shirley) of Youngstown, Robert Lowe of Taylor, Mich., Roy Lowe (Carol) of Pensacola, Fla., Ralph Lowe (Sharon) of Elizabeth, Alaska, Randy Lowe (Debbie) of Youngstown; her son by association, Calvin L. Knapp, whom she resided with; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lowe; a daughter, Sandra Holmes; two sons, Raymond and Ronald Lowe; and a sister, Estelle Creekbaum.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St., Warren, Pa., today, June 12, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Tim Olson, interim chaplain of Hospice of Warren County. A memorial service will be conducted in August at a date and time to be announced at the Austintown Baptist Church.

Interment will be at Greenhaven Cemetery, Austintown.
