Obituary for Bertha "Kris" Kristof Cieplak

~Bertha "Kris" Cieplak age 89, wife of the late Joseph Cieplak and longtime Ansonia resident, entered into eternal rest June 30, 2015. She was born Oct. 2, 1925 in Norwalk, and worked as manager for Western Union in Ansonia as well as the Shelton Travel Agency. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia and volunteered for the Derby Historical Society, the Housatonic Valley Assoc. and the Disabled American Veterans’ Women''s Auxiliary. Kris was an environmentalist and a passionate community organizer who founded the "Concerned Citizens For Clean Air." She leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons Joseph Cieplak of Hamden, Robert Cieplak of Derby & James Cieplak of Eagle River Alaska, 3 daughters JoAnn Foley of Waterbury, Maureen D’Ascanio of Trumbull & Barbara Cieplak Migani of Woodbridge, 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Steve Kristof of Norwalk and sister-in law Dorothy Kristof of Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 3 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St. Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
