Obituary for Julius W. Bacote

Julius WBacote, 96, of Ansonia born on January 1, 1919 in Society Hill, SC to the late Terry Bacote and Julia AntrumBacote, passed away May 29, 2015 at YNHH. He graduated from Butler High School in Hartsville, SC and college at Coulter Memorial Academy in Cheraw, SC. Julius taught 8th grade in the South Carolina school systems before he was drafted in the army. Julius will be remembered for his honorable service in the United States Army during WWII. After retiring from the military he moved to Ansonia, CT and was gainfully employed as a molder at Alloy Foundry formerly located in Naugatuck. He joined the Macedonia Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher; eventually becoming Superintendent of the Sunday school. He served on the Trustee Board, Finance Ministry and was the church Treasurer for many years. He loved church, to work in his yard, watch UConn basketball, listen to gospel music but most of all sitting on his front porch. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Deacon Katie (Parker) Bacote of Ansonia; sons Anthony W. (Kim) Bacote Sr. of New Haven, Robert (Sara) Suitt of NC, daughters Deacon Audrey Suitt of West Haven, Betty (Paul) Wynn of Delaware, Deacon Janice (Gaspar) Benitez of New Haven, sisters; Alma Johnson of DC and Daisy Chapman of MD, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren, special friend John Stroman and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
