POLAND - Edward R. Drozdik, 77, passed away early Monday evening, Memorial Day, May 25, 2015, at his home following a brief illness.

Edward, who was nicknamed “Cookie,” was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Youngstown, a son of the late Edward and Helen Yuhas Drozdik, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a graduate of St. Brendan Elementary School and of Chaney High School, and he  was also an ITT graduate, certified in radio and TV repair.

Ed worked as an electrical engineer for Wean United. He also owned and operated Wedgewood Auto Body in Austintown, and was the owner of Pizza Village in Canfield. Most recently, he worked as a maintenance man at the Chelsea Court Apartments in Boardman, and was referred to fondly as a “master of all trades.”

Mr. Drozdik enjoyed tinkering in his machine shop and woodworking in his toolshed. He attended Holy Family Church in Poland, and he was a 32nd-degree Mason.

Ed leaves five sons, Richard Young of Alliance, Russ Edward Drozdik and Robert Edward Drozdik, both of Clearwater, Fla., Edward R. Drozdik II (Michelle Davis) of Galveston, Texas, and Anthony Edward Drozdik (fiancé Alaine Annerino) of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Alexis, Anthony, and Annabella Drozdik; two stepchildren, Austin Royer and Janessa Chizmark; a sister, Patricia Infante of Austintown; two nephews, Christopher M. (Angela) Infante and Matthew P. Infante; and his former wife and friend, Martha Jane Drozdik of Youngstown.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., THURSDAY, May 28, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 North Meridian Road, Youngstown.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on FRIDAY, May 29, at the funeral home.

Committal services will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens
