Obituary for Kenneth H McClain

KENNETH H. ''KENNY'' MCCLAIN

BOARDMAN - Kenneth H. McClain, 90, formerly of McDonald, died peacefully, with his daughters at his side, on Monday, May 18, 2015, at 6:45 a.m. at Vista Care Center.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1925, in Washington, Pa., the son of the late Orville and Lillian Reeves McClain.

Kenny retired as a millwright from U.S. Steel in McDonald in April of 1980. He was a member of the Woodland Park United Methodist Church in McDonald. In his younger years, he liked to golf, bowl, fish, and talk on the CB Radio.

Mr. McClain was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his two daughters, Karen Ann (Ronald) Pflug of Marblehead and Linda Sue (Jerry) Garasky, with whom he lived; three grandchildren, Robert “Bo” (Melissa) Urban of Mineral Ridge, Christopher “Chris” (Amy) Urban of Hilton Head, S.C., and Launi Maiorana of Marblehead; and one great-granddaughter, Hadley Urban.

Other than his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, the former Norma J. Killin on Sept. 12, 2001, to whom he was united in marriage on July 31, 1948; two brothers, Loyal and Wayne McClain; and one sister, Gail Simmons.

Funeral services will be held at the Woodland Park United Methodist Church, 601 Ohio Ave., McDonald, at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2015, where Pastor Carla Davies will celebrate Kenneth’s life.

Family and friends may visit at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel, on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. Family and friends may also gather at the church, one hour prior to the service on Thursday as well.

Burial will take place at Green Haven Cemetery, Canfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512, or to the Hospice House of Poland.
