Obituary for Frank Sohaiby

FRANK CHRISTOPHER SOHAIBY

YOUNGSTOWN - There will be funeral services on Monday, May 11, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Frank Christopher Sohaiby, 93, who died on Thursday, May 7, 2015.

Frank was born on Dec. 29, 1921, a son of Adolph and Sadie (Charles) Sohaiby.

He was employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation as an Engineer for ten years. Along with his position at O.D.O.T, he worked as a consulting engineer for several companies for about 35 years, working on various projects all over the country. Some of the major projects he worked on over the years included Dravo Corp., Standard Oil Co., Goodyear, and a jet inoculator medical instrument.

Frank was very proud of his work, acquiring four patents for the companies he represented. He also recently became a published author of Life’s Journey in Search of Truths.

Frank was also a World War II veteran, serving his country as an Air Corp Aviator.

He is survived by two nieces, Carol (Arthur) Crann and Deborah Thomas; a nephew, Thomas J. Thomas Jr.; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary E. Thomas, and Victoria Sohaiby; and a brother, John J. Sohaiby. Family and friends may call Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home
