Obituary for Julia H Kipp


   Julia Helen (Slezak) Kipp was called home to the Lord in the early morning of Wednesday, April 29, 2015. She was 95 years of age and a resident of Cardinal House Assisted Living in Cambridge, Ohio where she resided since February 2014.
Born April 2, 1920. near Shadyside Ohio, she was one of eight children, and the third daughter of Sylvester and Theresa Slezak who took residence in Shadyside after emigrating from Slovakia.
Julia was an excellent student and helped support her depression-era family by working since the age of 15 until her marriage. Her employment pursuit led her to Euclid, Ohio in the late 1930''s. She married her only husband Albert J. Kipp on November 1, 1948. Julia was blessed with a keen sense of humor and intellect. Her ability to learn was evident in her use of computers and emerging technologies even in her later years. Julia and Albert spent most of their time together at residences in Willoughby and Mentor.
Julia was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers. She was an accomplished and skilled cook, excelling at pie baking for which she won blue ribbons and recognition at several County Fair baking contests in Ohio. Her always cheerful attitude, sense of humor and constant loving support will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
A loving and devoted mother, nothing gave Julia more joy than nurturing and supporting her family. In addition to her natural children, Wayne A. Kipp of Boerne, Texas, Sally A. Todt of New Concord, Ohio, Laurey L. Raeburn of Burton and Daniel J. Kipp of Winnetka, Illinois; Julia raised three stepsons, Thomas Kipp of Ocean Reef, Florida, David Kipp of Painesville Township and Gary Kipp of Mentor. Julia has nineteen grandchildren and even more great grandchildren, which were the source constant joy. Her surviving siblings are Agnes Snyder of Shadyside, Michael Slezak of Troup, Texas, and Theresa Manley and Katherine Sabatina, both of Shadyside.
Julia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert J. Kipp; her brothers, Sylvester and Steve; as well as her sister, Mary Krupa.
A 3:00 p.m. memorial service will be held Friday, May 8, at the Painesville United Methodist Church, 71 N. Park Place in Painesville, Ohio 44077. Chaplain Thomas Kipp will officiate. Burial will be private.
