Obituary for Steven Sarrafian

Steve Sarrafian, 90, of Glen Mills formerly of Havertown, died April 26, 2015 at Maris Grove.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a graduate of Overbrook High School and attended St. Joseph's University.  He was a resident of Glen Mills for the past 8 years.

An Army-Air Corps veteran of WWII, he served in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater of Operation.  Mr. Sarrafian was a member of St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church and had been active in the Men's Club. 

Steve retired as a Purchasing Agent for Unisys in 1986 after 23 years.  An avid sportsman, he enjoyed playing in a softball league and served as an ice hockey coach at Haverford High and at the Skatium.  He also enjoyed trips to the casino and the horse races. 

He was pre-deceased by his son David.  Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Malena (nee Derderian); sons, Stephan (Karen) Sarrafian, Michael (Kris) Sarrafian, Robert (Sue) Sarrafian, and 4 grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 9am, Thursday Apr 30 at St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 630 Clothier Rd, Wynnewood, PA 19096.  Funeral service will be at 10am.
