Obituary for Katherine Madison

KATHERINE C. MADISON SHARON, PA. - Katherine C. Madison, 92, formerly of Girard, passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 13, 2015, at Cleppers Manor in Sharon, after a long and fulfilling life.

Katherine was born Feb. 19, 1923, in West Hazeltown, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Marion Miller Robbins.

Mrs. Madison was a high school graduate and she dedicated her adult life to raising and caring for her family.

She was member of First United Methodist Church in Girard. Katherine greatly enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her family.

Her husband of 50 years, Leroy Madison, whom she married Jan. 12, 1946, passed away April 9, 1996.

Mrs. Madison leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Roy Charles (Shirley Jean) Madison of Brookfield; her daughter, Kathy Lee (Mike) Gatesman of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Christina (Pete), Charles (Mindi), and Amanda (Scott); and five great-grandchildren, Peter, Madison, Kenny, Austin, and Saleena.

Besides her husband, two brothers, Charles Jr. and Buddy Robbins, preceded her in death.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at Kinnick Funeral Home, McClurkin Memorial Chapel, 222 S. State St., Girard, where funeral services will take place at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, where Katherine will be laid to rest next to her husband.
