Loretta Annette Gurley went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Theodore Sr. and Callie Griffin.Loretta lived in Akron, Ohio all of her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She attended North High School and she loved being in church faithfully serving the Lord for 35 years. She also enjoyed shopping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren as well as arts and crafts cooking and her hatsPreceded in death by her parents, Theodore Sr. and Callie Griffin; brothers, Theodore Jr. and Richard; sisters, Theola and MildredShe leaves to mourn her cherished memory sons, David Gurley Jr. (Diane) of Akron, Christopher Gurley Sr. of Mansfield, Texas, Wayne Daniels (Jessica), of Creston, Ohio, Michael Gurley (Bobbi) of Akron; daughters, Renee Bennett (Reginald Sr.) of Akron, Ohio, Laurenthia Gurley of Charlotte, North Carolina, Detra Gurley, LaKisha Juma (Sammy), Meshaela Gurley all of Akron, Ohio; brothers, Cletus Griffin (Debbie) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Garland Griffin (Helen) of Akron; 24 grandchildren, eight great-children; special friends, Jeanett Turneur, Monica Armour, Fern Sykes, Lavette Mosley; and a host of other friends, nieces and nephewsFamily will receive friends Wednesday, March 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave. Home going celebration will be Thursday, March 19, 2015 12 p.m. at City of Joy, 610 W. Market St., with family visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Elder Derek Mosley eulogizing. Interment held in Mt. Peace Cemetery
