Obituary for Miss Helen Smerznak

Helen Smerznak, a 90 year old lifelong resident of Ansonia, died March 5. She was born March 11, 1924 in in Ansonia, daughter of the late Cornelius & Anna Soltys Smerznak. She worked as an office clerk for Better Packages of Shelton and retired from Ascom Haslet Mailing Systems in Shelton. She was a parishioner of the Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church of Ansonia and a member of the Ansonia, Derby & Seymour Senior Centers. Helen was predeceased by 2 brothers, John & Stephen Smerznak and 4 sisters, Anna Smerznak, Mary Medak, Nancy Mazzucco & Jessie Kidwell. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Three Saints Church, 26 Howard Ave. Ansonia, CT 06401. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
