Obituary for Augusto B Navarro Jr

Augusto B. Navarro Jr. aka "Jun," "Papa Jun," "Tito Jun," "Sweetheart," completed his circle of life and died peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. He was born in Tondo, Manila, Philippines on September 13, 1943 to Natalia Bondoc and Augusto Navarro Sr. He was the second child of three siblings. He attended Letran College where he received his BS degree in Business & Finance. He was active in the school's drill team at Letran College and became an ROTC officer. He migrated to San Francisco, CA in August 1967 and worked in the accounting field. In the early 70's, he switched gears and became an insurance agent with Prudential Life Insurance Company. Due to his natural talent in sales, he was able to cultivate others in his craft, was promoted and given his own region. He was eventually assigned to establish an office in Hawaii where he recruited, trained and developed perspective sales agents. He was also an entrepreneur who formed many small ventures. Augusto had many passions that included jogging, swimming, electronics and music. Based on his love of country and music he established the Philippine Heritage Foundation and often performed in various venues around the world with artists like Lea Salonga. He was a generous, loving, patient, family oriented man who never turned anyone away who needed help. He was also very active in the Filipino community. Augusto is survived by his loving wife, Sonia and their 6 children (and spouses): Anne (Noel), Karen (Janneh), Jose (Erica), Rachel, Rowena (Joe) and Tony. He was also a beloved Grandpa to his 8 grandchildren who he was very fond of: Sofia, Jaden, Chloe, Sydney, RJ, Darion, Nikko and Cheyenne. Augusto is also survived by 2 sisters: Eligia Navarro and Corree Cadenas. We have an emptiness in our hearts because of his loss and he will greatly be missed, but will never be forgotten.
