Alberta Louise (nee: Pace) Maresh passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. Born April 17, 1933 in Portsmouth, she has battled cancer since 1996. Hospice of Western Reserve has lovingly assisted her for the past several years. While in Chardon, helpers from Mentor came and while in Orwell a team from Ashtabula and they were wonderful. Day and night they served her needs. Alberta served on the Chardon Maple Festival Board for many years. She loved traveling and visiting places such as Utah, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Arizona and many others. Whether near or far she enjoyed the company of the people she was with and the fun of meeting new friends in new destinations. Spending time with people near and far was her favorite past time. She was a very giving and loving individual. Alberta Maresh was employed at the Geauga County Sheriff''s Department as a dispatcher for several years. Best Sand Corporation became her home away from home from Aug. 27, 1973 through June 28, 2002 when she retired. After retirement she dedicated the majority of her time to her family and friends. Family meant everything to her. She was the most loving and giving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and great aunt that anyone could ever desire in life. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
