Obituary for Verda L. Prentice
Verda L. Prentice, 97, of Mentor, passed away Jan. 30, 2015, at her home. She was born Dec. 21, 1917, in Willoughby. Mrs. Prentice was a short order cook for many years. A graduate of Fenn College, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her. Survivors are her children, Roberta Joan Winston, Hazel O''Neal, Claudia (C.J.) Land and Roy (Pat) Prentice. She is also survived by her many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Lora Abel and Joyce Hardy; her brother, Robert (Pat) Logan; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Prentice; parents, Walter and Tressa Logan; her three brothers; five sisters; one grandchild; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Mentor, OH 44060. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterland.
