Obituary for Mary Louise McDonnell Manger

M. Louise Manger, age 80, wife of Robert Manger and resident of Shelton, passed away peacefully at 11:30 pm on Dec. 25. She was born Jan. 7, 1934 in Derby, daughter of the late John & Blanda Benoit McDonnell. She graduated from Ansonia High School and the Yale New Haven Hospital Nursing School and later served as head Nursing Instructor for the school. She served as Senior Citizen Committee Commissioner for town of Shelton, was an active member of The Harry B. Brownson Country Club, and was a member of The Griffin Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Huntington Congregational Church. In addition to her husband, she leaves three daughters, Laura Pearson & her husband Jeff of Clearwater, FL., daughter & best friend Lexanne Kroll of Southbury, CT and Kay Yoder of Ballwin, Missouri, son Robert Manger & wife Kathleen of Shelton, sister Ann Kretz of West Palm, Fl., 8 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers John & Frank McDonnell. A memorial service and celebration of life of Louise Manger will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Huntington Congregational Church, 19 Church St. Shelton, CT. There are no calling hours. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, is entrusted with arrangements.
