Ruth Amelia Sherhag

 89, of Massillon, passed away quietly early Sunday morning, Jan. 11, 2015. Born in Massillon, Aug. 8, 1925, the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Ann (Williams) Lash, Ruthie attended Washington High School and had worked in the sales office of the former Republic Steel Corp. in Massillon until her retirement in 1987. She and her late husband, Robert P. ''Bob'' Sherhag were members of the former Wesley United Methodist Church of Massillon and together they enjoyed traveling - especially to Florida and every autumn looked forward to a new football season to cheer on her beloved Massillon Tigers, The OSU Buckeyes and the Browns. Ruthie and Bob had no children of their own but took great care in looking out for the children in their neighborhood. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Molly (Paul) Paccione, of Macomb, Ill., and will be remembered for her infectious smile, cheerful disposition and a willingness to always lend a hand. There are no calling hours but a brief chapel service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
