Obituary for Jack G Atkins

Funeral Mass for Jack G. Atkins, 77, of Lyndhurst, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave. Willoughby. Mr. Atkins passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at his residence with his family at his side. Born June 11, 1937, in Willoughby, he had been a resident of Lyndhurst for the past 39 years. Jack was an antique car enthusiast. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Peggy K. (nee Steverding) Atkins; loving father of Colleen M. (Greg) Bowers and Katie C. (Ray) Geis; cherished grandfather of Landon, Todd, Meghan and Bree; brother of Vivian Grahek; "special" brother-in-law of Jim Steverding; brother-in-law of Ed Steverding and Lynn Steverding; and uncle of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Margaret (nee Ward) Atkins. Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township. The family suggests contributions in his name be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
