Eloise May (Varsey) Bruce
Eloise May (Varsey) Bruce, 89, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away suddenly Thursday, January 1, 2015, after a short illness.
Eloise was born March 29, 1925 in Elyria, Ohio. She loved to feed and watch the birds and care for her pets. She loved her beautiful flower garden. She loved working on her family genealogy. She had a very kind spirit. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She volunteered for over twenty years at Western Reserve Hospital. She was a devout member of The First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls for nearly sixty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus; mother, Lucille; father, Benjamin and sister, Marion Rice. She will be deep missed by her daughter, Cathy (Tom) Hammonds; son, Scott Bruce; sister, Harriett (Dick) Decker of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Brian (Karen) Hammonds, Holly (Greg) Julius, Michael (Melissa) Hammonds; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lucas Hammonds, Eloise and Joshua Julius, Zoey Hammonds; nieces, nephews and close friends.
A special thanks to the Critical Intensive Care Staff of City Hospital for their excellent care during her short illness.
Services will be held 2 p.m. MONDAY at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., with Rev. Dr. David A. Baker officiating. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
