Obituary for Marian Caldrone

NILES - Marian L. Caldrone, 91, died peacefully at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Gracewoods Senior Living in Niles.

She was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Oceola Mills, Pa., the daughter of Lawrence and Caroline Galka Tereba.

Marian was a homemaker and loved caring for her children and mother-in-law Carmella, who lived with her and her husband, Tom, for 35 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, Mount Carmel Society and Catholic Women’s Guild.

Her love of baseball and the Cleveland Indians was the highlight of her days beginning with Spring Training until the end of the season. In her early years, she was never with out her transistor radio held up to her ear.

Marian was also always eager to help family and friends. Whenever they needed her she was there for them. She never refused anyone and was always willing to do whatever it took to make someone happy.

Her husband, Thomas J. Caldrone, whom she married Aug. 29, 1945, died Jan. 9, 2010.

Marian was a loving, gentle soul and will be deeply missed by her son, Thomas J. Caldrone and his wife, Sandy, of Howland; her daughter, Marilyn McCullough and her husband, Tom, of Howland; her sister, Gerry D’Amico and her husband, Larry, of Niles; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers.

Friends may call Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Greenhaven Cemetery.
